I have a buddy in town that has a bunch of tools and is always looking for fun projects. After I told him that the only thing I didn't like about my kettle grill was that it didn't have a side table he decided to fix that for me!
He made the table from cedar and gave it a light coat of a clear polyurethane. I like that he used cedar since it is incredibly light and should age nicely on my deck.
He traced out the curve on the top of the table by using the lid of the kettle. Pretty clever!
Once he got the design figured out it took him about a day to get the table made.
The table snugs right up against the kettle and is large enough to hold a packer brisket.

I can use the bottom shelf to store some grilling tools. Right now I've got my charcoal stored down there but since I am not going to keep this covered that is not a long term thing.
We were just thinking about having a table for the kettle when we were drawing this up but it turns out that it is also a perfect table for a Weber Smokey Mountain!

I look forward to using the heck out of this table this summer! It is real nice to have a friend who has a garage full of tools and knows how to use them!
I think I better go put on a pork shoulder and bring that guy some barbecue as a thank you gift!
