I tried my hand at grilling some cabbage today and was delighted with how well it turned out!
My initial plan was just to grill some steak. I had a cheap piece of top round steak and decided to soak it in Dale's Seasoning marinade for a while to see if that would help make the thing tender. It was going to take at least 30 minutes for the steak to marinade so I figured I might as well throw something on the grill while I waited.

I used a small head of purple cabbage and sliced it into quarters. The cabbage was sprayed with Pam and seasoned with a low sugar barbecue rub.
The cabbage was grilled directly over high heat for three minutes and then flipped and cooked for another three minutes. After the cabbage had a nice char it was moved to the indirect, cooler side of the grill.

After the steak had marinated for 30 minutes I put it on the grill for three minutes per side. I love the grill marks! The steak smelled amazing as it was grilling!
Once the steak was finished I took everything off the grill and served it up!

The cabbage had a tasty char on the outside and was steamy and tender on the inside. The grilled cabbage was a winner and I will be tweaking this idea to come up with a full blown recipe. I bet this would have been amazing if I had dipped it into some melted butter or Italian seasoning!
The steak was just okay. The Dale's marinade did not make it tender...just salty. Oh well, even a bad steak is still better than a poke in the eye!
